So, I live in Cookeville, TN where that photo of a kid tipping the drag dancer went viral. It happened at TN Tech University, where the theatre department hosts drag show semi-regularly. It was a huge uproar as one would imagine. Back in January, there was a drag brunch at a bar being hosted on a Sunday. Proud boys and white supremacists showed up to protest. Your post made me think of that. Sometimes I do wonder where the line is with informing children and engaging them with information too soon or not at all.
