2023 saw Jon Keith's contribution to the discourse in articulating his struggles with mental health. His dark emotional sonic voyage, Eremos, examines the experience of reconciling his internal well-being against his looming depression, insecurity, and fatigued mental state.

Eremos is a great record with many standout tracks.…

Pretty turnt, right? Do people still say that?

As you can see, it has the energy of a Uzi record but he attacks the instrumental with a venomous earnestness like Cole on leg day.

I love the ending of that song. Shua’s sultry vocals are a soft-spoken reminder that this attitude and persona stem from a place of possible hurt and trauma.

This next song is a nice satire. It knocks super hard, especially with that switch up in the middle. Lecrae’s verse is insane.

This next song is the heart of what this album is about. Trigger warning: you're about to get into your feelings.

FOR CONTEXT: This YouTube Short explains why this is entitled “The Bridge”.

Lastly, “Remedy” sounds like a futuristic hymn. It is one part Tame Impala, and another part 808s & Heartbreak.

It has a very emotionally compelling angle for the first two minutes but then crescendo's into this euphoric explosion of warm synths and drums. It feels like the end of some indie movie with the lead character finally walking into the sunset having left a very toxic relationship.

What a journey.

Mental health affects everyone. Many tools and resources are available for anyone to get help if needed.

In Jon Keith's ability to utilize his faith and find refuge in the true God of Abraham (Psalm 91.4), we can be encouraged to seek help similarly.

While a prayerful dialogue between your heart and the Holy Spirit is always encouraged, immediate practical resources are always available.
